The nearly 30-year period of sustained success by Norways national team for womens handball has been possible due to long-term strategies and hard work. An important part of the success formula has been the ability to balance continuity and renewal. The handball federation and the womens team have, over the last decades, managed to combine continuity of key personnel and coaching principles with necessary innovation. The latter has required a continuous focus on research, knowledge development and knowledge exchange. Time will show if they manage the balance as well in the coming years.
